VOLUNTEERING
Volunteering is the practice of contributing one's time, labor, or other services to an organization or cause in
order to help support a particular mission. Most volunteers work primarily with non-profit organizations or groups
like schools, NGOs, hospitals, or government agencies. Volunteers carry out all sorts of duties, from clerical and
office support work to manual labor, transport of goods, publicity campaigns, and event organization.
There are countless ways in which one can volunteer. Some common volunteer activities include working in soup
kitchens, assisting in classrooms, caring for the ill and elderly, cleaning up litter, constructing homes for
low-income families, and aiding in disaster areas.
There are no limits to how a person can volunteer – you simply need to find the right cause and
determine how your skills and services can be most completely utilized. And, of course, as a volunteer, you can
never request payment for your work.
